The site is located in the saddle of a ridge that extends northwest from the top of Mt. Syazan. More than 40 stone tools were found there, including arrowheads, ishisaji (tanged scrapers), and daseisekifu (digging tools). No earthenware has been discovered, but the characteristics of the stone tools suggest that the site dates from the initial to middle Jomon period. Judging from the fact that no traces of earthenware or dwellings have been found, and the location of the ruins, it is thought that there was a place of short-term stay rather than being used throughout the year. Because it is located on the ridgeway connecting the Watarase River basin and Senjogahara, it was probably used by the Jomon people who traveled in this direction to rest or stay for a short time.
