Monument of the working people is a two-figure composition (height 6.2 m) of workers - Ukrainian and Russian, who jointly raised the ribbon with the Order of Friendship of Peoples. On the pedestal of the sculpture there is an inscription from metal letters in 2 languages (Russian and Ukrainian): “In commemoration of the reunification of Ukraine with Russia” and “For the commemoration of the Ukraine”. The multifigured composition stretched horizontally, dedicated to the reunification of Ukraine with Russia by the sculptor Alexander Skoblikov, contains the statues of Bogdan Khmelnitsky and boyar Vasily Buturlin, the Russian ambassador. The sculptural group is connected by a rainbow arch, which, according to the authors’ idea, symbolizes the unity of fraternal peoples: Ukrainians and Russians.
Behind the monument is an observation deck, which offers magnificent views of Podol, the Dnieper and its left bank.
