More model informationThe Malahide formation is comprised of a variety of limestone and shale members, rangining from fossiliferous grainstones to highly argilaceous muds. The subsection shown in this model is relativley clean with a low shale/argilite content. The competance of the beds and relatvive homogeneity of the mechanical properties of the beds allow for fractures to propogate through the sequence mostly unimpeeded.
