This rounded boulder, is one of a cluster of carvings found in archaeology rich area of Low Plain, on Baildon Moor. Referenced ‘IAG 158’ by Boughey & Vickerman in their 2003 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding’, it’s described as:
‘Small, triangular, smooth grit rock, slightly rounded at top. Seventeen cups of various sizes, some within linking grooves and one with ring.’
The CSI: Rombalds Moor Project recorded the stone ‘Low Plain 11’ in 2012, and provided a more detailed description of the motifs (too large to copy here) found on the stone.
