This pendant has been made using OpenSCAD as the difference of a Möbius strip and a second, rotated Möbius strip:
difference() { mystrip(); rotate([0,0,180]) mystrip(); }
Well, mystrip() is implemented somewhere, of course. In fact, this operation slices the strip in some way. In contrast to experimenting with paper, glue, and scissors, there is no folding and wrapping of this solid metal object.
Question: What object do you get, if you use intersection() instead of difference()?
Note: Slicing this object once more would produce two interlocked strips. You may try this: Print the object and cut it into “halves”, to see it and hold it in your hands.
