Presenting the Langeid Axe - a testament to the grandeur of the Viking Age. This model marks my inaugural venture into Sketchfab, I meticulously crafted it using original images from the University of Oslo’s Collection. The Langeid Axe, a significant relic from the Viking Age, was unearthed during archaeological explorations at Langeid in the Setesdalen valley. Developed in the twilight of the Viking Age, this axe was not a mere tool but a weapon of war, a symbol of power that could rival the prestige of a sword. This model captures the essence and aesthetics of the Langeid Axe, reflecting its main features with a keen eye for detail. However, it’s important to note that while the model strives for accuracy, it is not a 100% faithful replica of the original. The angle of the shaft, for instance, is rendered at 90 degrees in the model, a deviation from its probable historical configuration.
