More model informationThe Lacaulith (pronounced lack-o’-lithe) is a fictional creature I created for a Creature Design class. The Lacaulith is native to North America, particularly northern United States and southern parts of Canada. They can be found in marshlands, swampy areas, as well as in forests by ponds. For food the Lacaulith primarily consumes small bugs such as gnats and ants, as well as small fish eggs and sometimes even smaller fish. The name comes from Cau, the first three letters of the scientific name for salamanders, Caudata; and Lith, which is taken from the scientific name of the American Bullfrog, Lithobates catesbeianus; Lastly Lac, which is part of one of my favorite bands Lacuna Coil, just to add a personal touch.
