More model informationThis is one of the many Australian native bird eggs that my father (Henry George Landenberger) collected as a youngster. This one is clearly identified as “Jackass”, a colloquial name for a Kookaburra - although he normally referred to them as “haha pigeons”. The egg would have been collected in the early 1930s. Size is 44×32 millimetres.
Note the egg has been carefully pierced at both ends in order to drain the contents so that the shell could be preserved.
