Though it was conceived in Australia as a prospective military rifle, the M17S never saw service - instead, it was distibuted in the USA first by Edenpine of Australia then by Bushmaster as a semi-automatic rifle. In its original guise, the rifle was produced from 1992 until 2005, but the weapon was recently modified to provide a more modern platform by K&M Aerospace. It is currently on sale in several different calibres - one of which, 5.56 NATO, is depicted here.
The model itself comprises four texture sets - the body, magazine, magazine plate and scope, which range from 1K to 4K in size, which were all authored in Substance Painter 2017, and it was modelled from scratch in Blender 3D, making use of the recently improved Boolean modifier to create a detailed high-poly mesh, which was baked down to a low-poly model (again created in Blender) using the Substance Suite’s baking tools.
Enjoy.
