Surprisingly, this diminutive 7.5-cm-tall statue stands as the sole authenticated contemporary three-dimensional representation of this revered king.
Upon its initial discovery at Abydos, the statuette was found with its head missing. Recognizing the significance of the find, Sir Flinders Petrie, in chrge of the excavation, discerning that the break was recent, promptly initiated a search for the missing head, which ultimately culminated in its retrieval three weeks later.
