More model informationFort Gerulata was part of the chain of fortifications on the Limes Pannonicus on the territory of present-day Slovakia. Its remains are located in Rusovce, a district of the Slovak capital Bratislava. The equestrian camp was probably continuously occupied by Roman troops from the 1st to the 4th century AD. The structural remains have been part of the Danube Limes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, since 2021. The special significance of the area around the Bratislava Gate lay primarily in its function as a crossing point of transcontinental roads with the Amber Road.
