More model informationJupiter-140 is the 4 engine version of the proposed Jupiter-130 from the Jupiter DIRECT program. Jupiter-140 would have consisted of the Jupiter common core stage alone, fitted four RS-25E engines (expendable versions of the RS-25 flown on Shuttle) and a payload fairing on top, as well as the Shuttle-derived twin solid rocket boosters.
“140” stands for one cryogenic core stage, four main engines, and zero upper-stage engines (i.e no upper-stage).
This specific version of Jupiter was meant for delivering up to 85 t of cargo to LEO.
