John Star Headstone (OKBN0013)3D Model
Headstone of John Star who died 1785 and his wife Bridget Star (nee Eagan) who died 1818. The top of the stone is decorated with the Instruments of the Passion. These include a pair of flowering potted plants, a pair of winged soul effigies, a pair of roosters, a pair of hands, a pair of sunfaces. The I H S Christogram has a cross with looped terminals risign from the crossbar of the H and ias flanked by a pair of 8-pointed stars, all of which is contained within a roundel or a floral wreath. The inscription is framed by a decorative border of foliage. The base of the headstone is signed by the stonecutter P. Sheedy whose work can be seen on several other headstones in this graveyard, including the headstone immediately adjacent to the north.
