Jan Bianga, born on 26 January 1910, a Polish athlete, boxer, and coach. Initially, he practiced gymnastics in Sopot, and from the age of 16 he trained boxing. From 1929, he trained at the Polish club K.S. Gedania. He won 176 fights, drew 12, lost 9.
Having refused to sign the volkslist (German People’s List) during WWII, he was arrested and imprisoned at the camp in Nowy Port. In 1940, he was transferred to Stutthof, then to Sachsenhusen, and then to Mauthausen-Gusen. After the war, he studied at the Higher School of Maritime Trade and the Academy of Physical Education. He was a boxing coach at HKS Sopot, Ogniwa Sopot, Gedania, Floty Gdynia, Gwardia Wybrzeża Gdańsk and Polonia Gdańsk. He was Feliks Stamm’s assistant.
