More model informationThis is the mask created for the documentary “Time is wasted”. The short film is inspired by Afro Brazilian (sub)cultures and two main religions known as Umbanda and Candomblé. Both are religious practices that has no commitment to a so called traditional concept of time. In Umbanda and Candomblé, entities and Gods are among us in the past, present and future. According to these religious practices, an Orixá is known as a God or a Goddess.
Iroko is one of the oldest Orixás. Iroko is often portrayed as a sacred tree, at times, as the world’s first tree. The tree is the connection between time, life and ancestry. Iroko is the Lord of Time. He is the embodiment of coexisting times.
