Inscription 2 from Landhoo, Maldives3D Model
This coralstone block (MAHS-MDV-COL-029-O-0001) was found during work extending a road near Maa Budhuge Sarahahdhu (MAHS-MDV-NON-LND-S-001) in 2013. It is currently in the collections of the local Island Council. Brahmi-script on three of its long sides: two with clear lines of text, and what may be slighter traces of a few characters on a third. It measures 47cmx32cmx20cm.
It is similar to another inscribed stone found earlier on the same island, now in the National Museum at Malé (Inscribed stone 1 from Landhoo, Maldives / MAHS-MDV-COL-001-O-0033). Jost Gippert has identified that stone as dating to between the sixth to eighth centuries, CE.
