Ilachi Kumar, a handsome young man from a wealthy family, fell in love with the girl named Nattadi, the daughter of an itinerant acrobat. Learning that he could only win her hand by demonstrating acrobatic expertise before the local king, Ilachi left home and joined the traveling entertainers. He soon mastered the art of tightrope-walking and obtained an audience at the royal court. Though greatly entertained by Ilachi Kumar, the king became infatuated with Nattadi and began to plot how to dispose of the acrobat and gain her as his own companion
