More model informationMDM2 is a naturally occurring protein in our cells that binds p53 and signals it for degradation. p53 is called “the guardian of the genome” for its role, particularly protecting us from cancer by triggering cell death when cells misbehave. In cancer cases we would like to stop p53 from binding MDM2, so free-p53 can trigger cell death. pDIQ is a peptide designed to bind the MDM2 protein better than p53.
