The Gyptis is the replica of a wreck of the 6th century B.C. discovered in Marseille in 1993 during an emergency excavation. It is a small boat, which was sailing only in the Marseille region, and which was intended in particular for fishing Mediterranean red coral (for jewelery) whose fragments were found in the wreck.
