Prehistoric carving found in the Green Crag Slack / Stead Crag area of Rombalds Moor, West Yorkshire.
Boughey & Vickerman reference this stone IAG359 in their 2003 publication, ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding’ and describe:
‘Medium-sized low rock of fairly smooth grit. Two cups, one with part ring and one with groove.’
The CSI: Rombalds Moor project recorded ‘Green Crag Slack 17’ on ERA in 2013. However, one of the cups was covered by vegetation during their intial recording.
This model shows 2 cups as recorded by IAG, however, both have partial rings. Natural elements may have also been used to create motifs.
