Prehistoric carving found in the Green Crag area of Rombalds Moor, West Yorkshire.
One of several prehistoric carvings found within the prehistoric enclosure, Boughey & Vickerman referenced the stone IAG299 in their 2003 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding’, describing:
‘Medium-sized, smooth grid rock. One clear cup.’
In 2013, the CSI: Rombalds Moor project recorded the stone ‘Green Crag 09’, but erroneously entered as ‘Green Grag 09’ on ERA. The projects description is also missing.
This model shows the carver(s) may have utilised natural elements to give the appearance of a ring / partial ring around the cup.
