Prehistoric carved boulder on Goldsborough Rigg, Cotherstone Moor, W of Cotherstone, County Durham.
Referenced 3 in the Goldsborough section of the 1998 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’ this stone was recorded ‘Goldsborough Rigg 11’ by NADRAP and added to ERA in 2008. The Historic England scheduling for this stone describes:
‘…The rock is level with the ground, and is largely covered by turf. The visible part measures 0.7m by 0.3m. The carving is obscured by turf and consists of a cup with an incomplete, slight ring.’
