More model informationLittle is known about this gold mining pick besides that it was used on the Ballarat goldfields. Unlike other picks you may have seen, those used by gold miners had only one sharpened edge. One edge was removed as there was little room to swing the pick back and forth while in the tight confines of a mine shaft, preventing it from hitting the opposite wall.
