Boulder near Ravensheugh Crags, SW of Wark, Northumberland.
This stone sits amongst a cluster of other carvings, to the E of the four-poster stone circle on Ravensheugh Crag and was thought to be one of several new finds discovered during NADRAP surveys. The team referenced the stone ‘Goatstones 27’ and added it to ERA in 2008, describing:
‘one good cup; four faint cups; one possible eroded cup in a natural depression.’
On this model, one of the cups appears to have a partial ring. Although it isn’t clear whether this is carved, a utilisation of natural features or a combination of both.
