Prehistoric carving found in the Shipley Glen area, near Baildon, West Yorkshire.
First published by Sidney Jackson in the 1950s, this stone sits within a shallow 15 metre ring ditch of unknown origin. Referenced IAG130 in Boughey & Vickerman’s 2003 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding’, it was added to ERA as ‘Glovershaw 06’ by the CSI: Rombalds Moor project in 2013. They describe:
‘… Carving consists of four relatively shallow cups each between 7cm and 8cm in diameter forming a slight arc in approximate NNE - SSW alignment. There is a significant ‘Y’ shaped scratch on the W side of the panel.’
