More model informationGATA-1 is a transcription factor in humans that regulates red blood cell and platelet development. GATA-1 also has a partner protein “Friend of GATA-1” (FOG). It was found that there were four mutations which all occur on the exon encoding the N-terminal of the zinc finger as follows: V205M, G208S, R216Q and D218G.
These mutations are shown on the model to help determine their effects on DNA binding to GATA and FOG binding to GATA.
