This is the central area of rock art panel 9 in the Grotto Alcove of the Palatki Heritage Site NW of Sedona, AZ.
This panel has pictographs and petroglyphs by the Sinagua and probable petroglyphs by Archaic and Apache cultures.
The harsh lighting highlights the scratched then polished then scratched again corners typical in this area.
This model is part of an ongoing project to document the progressive degradation of the rock face at this site. You will not areas on this cliff face where rock fragments are spalling off and the fractures are being documented to determine changes over time.
