More model informationDetail of the three female heads adorning the cast-iron drinking fountain and gas-lamp, which was presented to Southampton (Hampshire, UK) by Councillor Jonas Nichols in 1882. It was originally erected in Six Dials, St Mary’s and Nichols drank the first cup of water from it. In 1904 the fountain was moved to Kingsland Square and then in 1954 shifted to Bevois Square, which in 1990 was renamed Jonas Nichols Square. This Grade II Listed Monument has been damaged as the fourth female head has been removed (as seen when model is turned around to back).
