Isolation has forced us to reevaluate the ways that we live. The stress we have experienced as a result of restrictions is in stark contrast with the relief of returning to a “COVID Normal”. FOAMmm is a visual metaphor for this relationship between tension/ release, contraction/ expansion, compression and decompression. When we strip back coverings and expose bare foam in our furniture, much like our lives, we cannot predict what will happen. The uncertainty of our future keeps us in a state of metamorphosis, visualised by the changing states of FOAMmm as it adapts to support us and our possessions.
