Description: This bust depicts a female from the torso up in costume. The figure is facing forward, arms are relaxed, folded inward toward the torso, under the bust. The costume depicts a high-girded (referring to binding with a band) chiton (tunic) with a v-shaped neckline; shows traces of purple pigment. The figure wears an outer garment, himation, that is pulled over the back of the head and secured; shows traces of pink pigment. The figure’s hair is in an 8-strand melon coiffure, bound by a blue fillet (narrow piece of fabric); shows traces of red-brown pigment. A round, medallion-shaped diadem, a symbol of authority, secures the hair and himation at the center of the head. The figure is also shown wearing disk shaped earrings.
