I tried a bunch of new stuff in the new version of blender. 2.9something or another. This is an F1 Grenade. Its a defensive soviet hand grenade that isn’t exactly in service anymore except or a few niche cases.
This was mostly a test for me to see if it was worth making the switch to the new version of blender. I tried this once before but never got past the modelling stage as too much was moved around for my liking. After seeing the potential of procedural textures and more importantly texture masks, I decided it was worth a shot again.
There are certainly some things I would change but I feel this is already better than my usual work and this method has a lot of potential with some fine tuning. I finally used some texure paint to make a mask to switch between the green paint and cast metal textures. I’m thinking of the possibilities when I apply this to my guns.
Feedback is welcomed and encouraged, I definitely have a lot to learn.
