This model was created as part of a two week 3D Game Art workshop with INFINITY27. I fully recommend enrolling whilst places last!
This is LOD 5 of 5. A high poly sculpt with around 16.3M Tris baked onto a retopologised mesh, optimised to be used in UE5.
I have spent extra time after the duration of the course to correct several things noted in the evaluation of the model. First I implemented the use of anchor points on the gold pattern layer, taking away from the main gold layer using bevel and warp. This made the symbols stand out more, which was the original intention. I then added more blurred blue noise to the bronze, to indicate the increase of rust on the metal. Lastly, I added more roughness and dirt to the red sandalwood handle to add a more aged feel to it.
Further Improvements:
- Impliment radial warp to knots on the wood, replace directional grain with matching HSL knot texture.
- introduce silver inlay on spearhead
- Increase metal edge ware around sharp areas
