3D aerial survey conducted by ‘Aimee’ (Scotland’s first CAA-approved fixed wing UAS/drone permitted to fly in both rural and urban areas) in April 2015. Several visual line of sight (VLOS) flights were needed to survey this area to produce a stunning 3cm resolution model of Scotland’s most iconic city.
The mesh model and texture datasets generated from our photogrammetry-based point cloud are now available for sale for use within your CAD and 3D rendering software environments and projects.
We provide near real-time 3D virtual worlds which support a range of engineering and environmental applications across Scotland, as well as new opportunities to analyse our cities and build local resilience, i.e. by assessing the potential incoming solar PV radiation of building tops, conducting hyper-local flood terrain analysis, land change detection, as well as emergency and disaster response.
