The Anker Pain Expeller was made in Olten, Switzerland by the F. Ad. Richter et Cie, a company established by Mr. Richter in 1877. He was a daring businessman, a visionary, but also a conman. He started out in his teens with an advertisement: “An infallible way to become rich will be given to everyone who sends a dollar. Richter”. After collecting several hundred dollars he replied with a card to his donors: “Do the same, Richter”. He had diverse and wide-tranging business interests around the world, in Brussels, London, New York, Prague, Rotterdam, and several German and Swiss cities, and included pharmaceuticals, chocolate, soap, personal hygiene articles and music records. He was one of the founders of the Deutsche Gramophone. He ran a multinational-corporation. By 1910 when he died he was one of the 10 richest men in Germany. Most of his business went bankrupt after his death. A detailed biography of him can be found at: https://www.ankerstein.org/html/CO.HTM. Description by Dr. Andrew Spielman
