Summary: Collar removed from a dead dog washed ashore following the los of HMS Hampshire
The keeping of pets and mascots on board ship was a long-established practice in the Royal Navy. This collar is named ‘Liet. Brock, R.N. Hms Hampshire’. There was no usch officer on board the Hampshire, so this must have been the dog’s name.
