This souterrain is situated on the S side of the A974 road at the end of the road to Culsh farmsteading to east of Tarland, Aberdeenshire. The entrance is at the S end, from which the passage curves towards the NE, measuring 10.4m in length, up to 1.75m in breadth and 1.7m in height, being highest and widest at the rounded NE end. The walls, which incorporate edge set slabs at the NE end, have been mortared, but it is not clear whether this represents consolidation of the monument or a more substantial rebuilding. One cupmark is located on the left wall close to the entrance, however, this has a prominent protrusion at the base of the cup which I suggest makes it a possible rather than definitive neolithic cup mark.
