The Collis P. Huntington Memorial Academic Building, a massive four-story brick structure, was built on the Tuskegee Institute campus in 1904 . The bricks for the building were made at Tuskegee by the students as well. At the time of its construction, it was the largest building erected by students at the institute. The building was designed by Robert R. Taylor, the first African-American formally trained architect in the United States. From 1904 until it was destroyed by fire in 1994, it served as the primary academic facility, where most non-industrial classes met. This virtual model was created by Mr. Alex Jones (Tuskegee student) and Ms. Roodza Pierrelus (Tuskegee student), under the guidance of Dr. Kwesi Daniels (Tuskegee Professor) in 2021.
