More model informationAncient Egyptian clay jar-cap with stamped impressions of the name of King Hor-Aha of the First Dynasty, excavated at the Naqada Royal Tomb. The tomb, belonging to Hor-Aha’s mother, Queen Neith-hotep, suffered from fire damage at some point after the burial. Heat from this fire has partially fired the clay of the seal, resulting in the distinctive red and black colouring (of oxidation and reduction) on the base of the object, where it would have originally sat over the lid of the jar.
