More model informationThis jade necklace centerpiece carved in the shape of the Maize God head was found in an elite burial in Building D, Group 1, Holmul. The inscription on the backside of the head states that the necklace once belonged to the “holy Kaanul lord Yuknoom Uti’ Chan”. The discovery of the piece at Holmul points to an ongoing relationship between the Kaanul royal court at Dzibanche (Quintana Roo, Mexico) and its distant vassals at Holmul around 610-620 C.E. when Yuknoom Uti’ Chan was in power.
