This is a tribute to Carl Sagan, a great scientist, a great man. On February 14, 1990, after completing its primary mission, the Voyager 1 space probe took a picture of Earth, as requested by astronomer Carl Sagan. In the picture, from a distance of about 6 billion kilometers (well beyond the orbit of Neptune), the Earth appeared as a tiny dot, less than a pixel in size, against the vastness of space. Carl Sagan coined the term “Pale Blue Dot” to indicate the Earth shown in the picture when he formulated his reflections of the photograph’s significance. The narrative voice of Carl Sagan is from the final episode of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. The model of voyager 1 is by Brian Kumanchik, Christian Lopez. NASA/JPL-Caltech. It is strongly advised to explore the scene in VR!
