More model informationChris Berry Cardiff University A model of a Calamophyton trunk. This is one of the oldest tree trunks discovered, approximately 390 million years old. It was found in North Somerset, England by Neil Davies and William McMahon, Cambridge University and described, along with further plant material and a small fossil forest in our paper:a Earth’s earliest forest: fossilized trees and vegetation-induced sedimentary structures from the Middle Devonian (Eifelian) Hangman Sandstone Formation, Somerset and Devon, SW England. Note that these fossils are below a dangerous cliff. This model is your chance to appreciate them in safety. https://doi.org/10.1144/jgs2023-204
