The donor was a 83-year-old male with no known cardiac disorders. This dissection uses reference number 0632.
The pericardium was opened and sutured to the walls of the chest for direct visualization of cardiac anatomy. The lungs and heart were inflated to show their relative anatomical position.
This cadaveric donation was provided by the University of Minnesota’s Anatomy Bequest Program. The acquisition and use of donor images were disclosed as part of the body donation consent process. The images contained within this publication were approved by the Anatomy Bequest Program. We greatly appreciate the generosity of the donors and their families for allowing these educational opportunities.
