Brigidine monastery in Lublin, ca 16503D ModelNoAI
The church was built between the years 1412 and 1426, funded by King Ladislaus II Jagiello. Between 1460 and 1470 the interior was decorated with frescoes. In the first half of the 16th century a four-sided tower was built adjacent to the western side of the church, as well as parts of the Brigidine Order monastery. In the mid-19th century the Sisters left the monastery to the Sisters of the Visitation of Holy Mary. In 1882 the Sisters left as well. Since then the monastery buildings were used as grammar school, living quarters, and military warehouse. In 1918 the monastery was given over to the Ursulines, who started a kindergarten and elementary school on the premises.
