This model was created as a “masterpiece” as part of the “Digital Asset Creation for Games” course at Furtwangen University.
The goal was to model an asset for an already existing game and to recreate the look of the game. The model is an own concept of a Hyperion Constructor, which was taken over and modified from the bandit clan “Children of the Vault”. It was created for the game Borderlands 3 and therefore should recreate the comic-like look of the game.
Blender was used for modeling and baking and Gimp for texturing. All textures were drawn by hand and processed using grunge textures and various brushes in Gimp to recreate the dirty look of the Game. After that, the textures were edited to create the metallic, roughness and emission maps. The Normal and Ambient Occlusion maps were baked directly in Blender.
