Museo ng Paglilitis ni Andres Bonifacio The onslaught of Spanish reaction against the Philippine Revolution after 23 August 1896 resulted in victories for Katipuneros in Cavite, while Bonifacio’s troops suffered defeats at battles in San Juan del Monte and San Mateo, Montalban. In November 1896, the Magdiwang Council, led by Santiago V. Alvarez, invited Bonifacio to Cavite, which the Supremo accepted. The court-martial of the Bonifacio brothers was held in Maragondon, Cavite in a bahay-na-bato built by Teodorico Reyes in 1889. On 5 May 1897, the military court presided by General Mariano Noriel, found the accused guilty of treason and recommended execution. On 10 May 1897, Andres Bonifacio and his brother were executed by soldiers led by Major Lazaro Makapagal in Mt. Nagpatong, Maragondon, Cavite.
