Samford Ecologial Research Facility (SERF) of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia
The Columbia Roller Skating Rink was once located on the existing site of the Brisbane City Hall. When the rink closed in the 1920’s the materials were re-used to build the barracks for the office workers at the Samford quarry that was mining granite for the new Brisbane City Hall. In 1942, the “Barracks” was relocated from the quarry and rebuilt at its present location. Contruction management students of Queensland University of Technology assisted in the refurbishment of the premisses which took place between 2007-2009.
On 8 July 2020, QUT’s Intership high-school students within STEM program assisted the datacollection completed by Research Engineering Facility using Inspire2 remotely piloted aircraft system.
