Small square stone, positioned between hollow ways, NW of How Tallon ridge, on Barningham Moor, County Durham.
This small stone sits about 5m north (downslope) of Barningham Moor 72 and is one of a number of carvings forming a dense cluster on this area of moorland. It’s referenced 51a in Beckensall & Laurie’s 1998 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’, and was added to ERA by NADRAP as ‘Barningham Moor 73’ in 2008. The team recorded:
“The motifs consist of three similar sized cups centrally, and one natural solution hole on the south side.”
