Squared ground level rock found in the Scale Knoll Allotment area of Barningham Moor, County Durham.
This panel is referenced 11 in Beckensall and Laurie’s 1998 publication, ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’ and was added to ERA by NADRAP as ‘Barningham Moor 3’ in 2008. It forms part of scheduled prehistoric walling and has an unusual reversed ‘N’ or ‘Z’ (depending on the viewing angle). Tool marks similar to those created by a metal chisel are still present.
