More model informationc. 2nd century CE relief in limestone recovered during the 19th century drainage of Lago Fucino in Abruzzo Italy. It depicts the interface of an orthogonally planned Roman city with its walls and buildings and its immediate suburbs. The focus are the city walls and a prominent gate, through which a road leads to a theater. Outside the walls, an inhabited countryside scene includes a river, villas, and tombs. It has variously been interpreted as a representation of an ideal city, or perhaps Marruvium, located on the shores of the now drained lake.
Modeled in Metashape using photos taken on an iPhone SE. Scale is approximated based on published dimensions.
