WORK IN PROGRESS Note: This is an initial 3D model that has not undergone post-processing work due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the model contains small inaccuracies: some geometry/components are distorted, blurred, or incomplete, and the acrylic vision dome appears matte though it is transparent.
Atmospheric Diving System (ADS) 2000 in the collection of the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum. Initially for commercial use in the oil industry, atmospheric diving suits (ADS) were subsequently adopted by the U.S. Navy to support deep-ocean work. From 2008 to 2017, the ADS 2000 served as the first step in the U.S. Navy’s submarine rescue system. A diver inside an ADS 2000 could descend up to 2,000 feet to inspect the conditions of a downed submarine and clear access to the submarine’s escape hatches in preparation for the rescue operation.
